With the Asset.Desk version 8.10.6 we present the integration of our asset management all-rounder with our brand new reservation portal Reserva.

What is Reserva?
Reserva is a web-based and intuitive reservation portal and lending system.  Employees within the company or external customers can use it to independently reserve and lend items / resources that are available for loan within the company. It doesn’t matter whether these are laptops, beamers, flipcharts, cameras or cars. Rooms can also be reserved with Reserva. Reserva thus makes reservation and lending simple, comprehensible and efficient.

End-to-end process with Asset.Desk:

Reserva provides a REST based API for integration with third party systems.

Asset.Desk is fully integrated with Reserva via the API interface and offers the benchmark in terms of API integration with inventory solutions. Released objects and rooms are transferred to Reserva via this API. The same applies to the primary and secondary properties (attributes) per object and room type to be displayed. Conversely, the (approved) reservations can be retrieved via the API, in order to then carry out the actual physical transfer and return in Asset.Desk.

                           

So feed Reserva with the data from Asset.Desk.

Office 365 Add-Ons / Skype for Business Plus-CALs 

One quarter of Germans currently work from their home office due to corona. There is some evidence that both employees and employers have taken a liking to the flexibility of everyday office life – and that the trend towards (at least part-time) home offices will continue.

Anyone who was quick to embrace communication solutions such as Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams now has an advantage.

To keep track of these or similar add-on licenses from Microsoft, the Cloud Scanner for Office 365 has been extended. Thus, in addition to the Office 365 basic plan, the fee-based add-on license plans can now also be called up. The add-ons include, for example, the Skype for Business Plus CALs.
From now on, the registered user accounts will be listed for the Add-On license plan as well, so that the exact license allocation can be made in Asset.Desk on this basis.

Encrypted Active Directory connections with LDAPS

Microsoft plans to migrate to the secure protocol LDAPS in Active Directory with an update in autumn 2020, after which unencrypted LDAP connections will no longer be possible. Asset.Desk is prepared for this and already offers a setting that allows you to switch to encrypted LDAP connections. If LDAPS is activated in AssetDesk, all AssetDesk components and services access the Active Directory exclusively via SSL.

Budget and budget evaluations in contract management

The contract management of Asset.Desk already offers payment plans and cash flow considerations for the future. With the new version budgets are added.
You first define your budgets with investment numbers, company code and amounts in Asset.Desk and then assign the budgets to the payment plans. All payments are then displayed for the respective budget, and you are always informed whether the budget is still sufficient, or where a budget may already have been exhausted.

In purchasing, sales and contract management, the sales tax rates changed in Germany from 01.07.2020 and 01.01.2021 are considered.
