We present: Asset.Desk

What's new? – Asset.Desk 8.13.2

Welcome to the latest version of Asset.Desk, 8.13.2, which brings a host of improvements to your IT asset management. This update focuses on increased user rights, an efficient search function in the rights tree, more flexible reporting, an expanded software filter function and a One Identity Active Roles interface to optimize your asset management processes.

Result set in custom reports according to user rights

Now offers Asset.Desk 8.13.2 intelligently adjusts custom reports by ensuring that users can only see information about devices for which they have appropriate permissions. For example, if the user does not have rights to certain groups, the devices in these groups will be excluded from the result set of the custom reports. With this new feature, you can be sure that every user receives exactly the insights that are relevant to their tasks and permissions.

Search in rights tree

We have added a search option in the rights tree to quickly find and edit or assign rights within a role.

Change group when swapping columns in reports

If column headings in reports are grouped together, the columns could not previously be swapped across groups. This restriction is lifted in the new version.

New right “Activated objects only” in user role

As of the new version, there is a new right that can be used in user roles. With this rights setting, users only see those objects that are activated, making it easier to focus on relevant and currently used devices.

Extension of software filter for software mapping

The latest version allows you to refine the software filter during software mapping by now allowing three-digit software versions to be recorded. This enhancement represents a significant improvement in the accuracy of your software inventories, enables more detailed tracking of version updates, and strengthens control over your software licenses.

One Identity Active Roles interface

With the interface to One Identity Active Roles, additional user data can be transferred via the existing Active Directory Loader. Within the options you can define which attributes of the Active Roles user go into which fields of the employee master Asset.Desk should be adopted. Technically uses Asset.Desk the Active Roles SPML Provider (SOAP interface) to retrieve a user's additional attributes in Active Roles. Enter the appropriate connection settings Asset.Desk firmly. If you use Active Roles, this interface allows you to provide additional information Asset.Desk to be synchronized continuously.

More improvements and fixes are waiting for you.

We wish you good luck and successful asset management with the new version 8.13.2
