The add-on module "Active Directory Manager" allows you to distribute software based on Active Directory groups!
With the Active Directory Manager, software packages (jobs) can be linked to Active Directory groups in the management console of Install.Desk via drag & drop, thus defining a basic configuration for each group. A distinction can be made between installation and deinstallation jobs.
If an existing computer is moved from one group to another, it starts Install Desk automatically precisely those jobs that were linked to the groups involved: According to the diagram, group A software that is no longer required is uninstalled and required group B software is installed. If a new computer joins a group, it automatically receives the basic configuration defined for the group.
This ensures that the clients always receive exactly the applications that are required for the respective task! In addition, the effort for administration is significantly reduced.
