New major release – Security Desk 8.0
Would you like maximum flexibility in interface monitoring?

Thursday, 24.11.2022 // 10:15 - 10:45 a.m.

The new major version of Security.Desk is here!

One thing is clear: external threats, the balance between securing and allowing, and security around end devices in organizations will continue to be particularly challenging in the years to come.

Security.Desk is the first USB and endpoint security solution, when it comes to granular protection of clients in the network against unauthorized and uncontrolled use of mobile storage devices (USB sticks, memory cards, smartphones, cameras, etc.) and data transfers. Security.Desk goes far beyond the possibilities of add-ons for virus protection solutions or standard tools from other manufacturers.

In the new version of Security.Desk we have the Control and monitoring of Bluetooth devices added. There is now a separate authorization for using Bluetooth devices (separate from WLAN). Every "pairing" (coupling) and "unpairing" (decoupling) of Bluetooth devices on the PC is reported to the manager as an event and recorded there, regardless of whether it is a speaker, smartphone or other paired device. If prohibited, the Bluetooth devices on the PC are decoupled, whereby the system takes into account exceptions according to the white list as well as exceptions for "Human Input Devices" (HID) such as mouse and keyboard. With HID Bluetooth devices, the battery level is also sent to the manager with the coupling event, so that you can immediately see where a battery in the Bluetooth mouse or keyboard needs to be replaced.

In Security.Desk 8.0, based on feedback from our daily users, we also paid special attention to improving usability and clarity. True to the motto: "Reach your goal with fewer clicks, with MORE flexibility!".

Significant changes are:

  • Control and monitoring of Bluetooth devices
  • Optimized operation of the rights structure
  • Revision of permissions
  • New layout (Windows 11)

We will present all the new features of the main version of Security.Desk 8.0 in the upcoming webinar.
