Keep the device list in Install.Desk up to date

  • Discover devices via domain list
  • Discover devices via IP range
  • Discover devices via Active Directory

Add devices from the respective discovery lists simply by clicking.

Deployment of

  • msi packages (these can be parameterized widely in order to execute standard or specific installations)
  • Predefined setups (unattended – via “silent” parameter)
  • Snapshots (creation on a reference system, snapshot deployment on the target systems “silent”)
  • Batch files and Windows commands / registry keys (add, change or delete registry keys)

Add devices from the respective discovery lists simply by clicking.

Deployment to

  • Single clients
  • Deployment groups consisting of several target clients (created via drag and drop)

Parameterize installations

  • Inform user about successful installation
  • Define the number of retries
  • Enforce installation in case user denied the installation a certain number of times
  • Automatic retries possible if the deployment on the client got failed
  • Email notification in case of errors

Use variable

  • Environment variables %ProgramFiles%, %windir%, %SystemRoot% can be used in the file path of the setup
  • Variables %IpAdress% and %HostName% put the user in a position to use the individual IP address or the host name of the specific client in the deployment commands

Execute deployment orders

  • Right after creation
  • At the next reboot
  • At a certain time in the future

Control deployment jobs

  • Switching point with light indicator showing the deployment success on every single target client
  • Detailed history (protocol) listing all deployment attempts on the client
  • Protocol entries can be downloaded in several formats (e.g. xls)

Integration with Asset.Desk

  • Direct creation of deployment groups in Install.Desk by using inventory reports of Asset.Desk (e.g. filter the report “installed software” in Asset.Desk by applying: “Which clients have not been supplied with a certain software application yet?” From the resulting device list, an appropriate deployment group can be created in Install.Desk automatically).
  • Transfer users from Asset.Desk to Install.Desk.

Additional module OS-Packager

  • Creation of operating system packages including answer file for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8
