Flexible interfaces and high connectivity with Asset.Desk
Asset.Desk provides a large number of interfaces to integrate third-party systems, e.g. from ERP systems, Active Directory, system management tools, etc. Therefore, it has a high degree of connectivity. Asset.Desk integrates seamlessly into existing system landscapes and processes and complements these by professional IT asset and license management. If Asset.Desk is the leading system in the system environment, it creates and manages the unique asset ID (inventory number) by itself. In the other case, it receives the asset ID from the leading system via an interface.
With these interfaces, all of our in-house systems, such as HEINZELMANN, Install.Desk or the mobile apps can be integrated to Asset.Desk.
The open Data Protocol (OData) enables data exchange between Asset.Desk and other systems. It acts as a modern web protocol and allows data access and data manipulation. This means for the app Asset.Desk Mobile+, that direct communication with Asset.Desk is possible, without loss of data. Third-party systems can be connected to the gateway at any time. Data is exchanged via HTTP (s) requests and responses in JSON format.
Numerous companies are already using Microsoft SCCM for their software deployment and scanning processes. However, this product is not intended for IT asset management and cannot represent all the licensing models of the market. Using this interface, IT asset management and software asset management in Asset.Desk can be built on the basis of SCCM scan data. The new SCCM interface enables the use of inventory information, gathered with Microsoft’s own solution. For all those who cannot rely on the excellent scanning techniques of FCS and have to introduce an ITAM solution into an existing enterprise environment with SCCM.
Transfer easily the master data to users, departments, rooms, and locations from your Windows Active Directory to Asset.Desk. The data from the Windows directory service can be synchronized regularly after the initial transfer. The maintenance of the organizational data is only necessary once. Active Directory remains the leading system.
Transfer scan data via the internet
With the new Web Daemon, the scan data of local Windows agents can be transferred from clients, which are not connected to the corporate network, via the web to a central server. Now, you can always be sure that you have captured all your company computers – no matter where they are!
Connect your IT infrastructure and software deployment
Use the Asset.Desk inventory data to deploy software with Install.Desk in a targeted way. On the basis of the inventory data in Asset.Desk, you can identify at which computers the desired software application still needs to be installed. These computers automatically take over as the Install.Desk deployment group. After deployment via Install.Desk, Asset.Desk informs you about the updated software status. Hence, the new software status of these devices is available in the inventory or asset database without any delay.
Connect your IT infrastructure with your helpdesk
Asset.Desk and HEINZELMANN ServiceDesk use the same database. In combination, assets managed in Asset.Desk can be used as a reference for HEINZELMANN tickets. Additional evaluation options per device are available.
The recorded support expense from the helpdesk can be transferred to the service charge in Asset.Desk. In this way, you can always track costs incurred by the technical support for each cost center or department. Employee and company master data from Asset.Desk build the basis, by the joint use of both solutions, for holistic configuration management and service support in accordance to ITIL.
