Key sales figures in the car trade - identification of KPIs and prototypical development of a BI app with benchmark and comparison of the numbers
We develop and operate a data warehouse for the authorized dealers of a large automobile group. The dealers send all the previous day's invoices to the warehouse daily via an interface, including new and used vehicle, parts and service invoices. The system now includes the electronic invoice stock of the dealers for several years.
The system is controlled via a dashboard. It shows the dealers important statistical data, for example. In the dashboard, a dealer can specify how his data is processed and to whom and in what form his data is forwarded.
Based on the raw data from the data warehouse, it must first be determined which ones essential sales figures or KPIs can be determined for the individual dealer, especially sales and volumes. Second are the possible dimensions to be defined, accordingly the differentiation of the data according to sales, aftersales, manufacturers and models as well as the chronological progression.
The main focus of the work is prototypical realization of an app as a BI dashboard, which shows the dealer the current key figures on a monthly basis. The data is provided in condensed form for this purpose. The app loads the data, displays the current KPIs, makes deviations obvious and allows you to drill down according to the selected dimensions.
Fourth, as long as there is still time, it must be examined to what extent Dashboard can be enriched with market data, to enable a benchmark and comparison of the dealer's sales figures with the market development at the respective point in time.
The technical environment for the development of the app is Microsoft ASP.NET Core, C#, Xamarin, mySQL. Appropriate previous experience is desirable.
