Deploy software fast and easily

By means of Install.Desk you deploy software applications, patches and service releases from a central point on the Windows clients of your network fast and easily.
You are in a position to install, uninstall and repair MSI packages, unattended setups and snapshots, you can run scripts and commands directly on the client and start applications there. It is also possible to build packages from single jobs which you can distribute to the target systems as a whole. Target devices can be grouped as well in Install.Desk so that you are able to supply the software to a group of devices with one action.

Create deployment orders via drag and drop technique easily

Deployment orders of predefined setups can be created fast and easily for the involved target devices via drag and drop technique. There is no need to use additional menu items.

Central management of deployment jobs

A central Windows Service is the central switching point for the execution of the deployment jobs. It provides the target devices “just in time” with especially those deployment jobs, the user created through the frontend before. Besides, the client´s availability and accessibility is checked periodically. Errors are reported to the frontend immediately. Plus, the error recovery and retries of deployments as well as the deployment on a specific date and time in the future are all tasks to be initiated and supervised by the Install Manager.

Fully overview by central switching point

A real time display showing the status of deployment orders being executed on the single target clients acts as a central switching point. Red and green lights indicate if a deployment job has been finished successfully or if a client is still waiting for a job.

Install.Desk is entirely based on the Microsoft .NET Standard and therefore offers all advantages of a modern Windows application.

Easy to use surface: Create deployment groups and deployment packages easily via drag and drop technique on the screen and create deployment orders by few clicks.
Central switching point: You see at a glance, which deployment jobs are planned, being processed or which are already finished. Furthermore, you get an overview on the status of every deployment job, the target clients´ availability and the deployment progress via the light indicator.
Flexible timing: You define the time of execution for the deployments when creating the order – that can be right after their creation, at a certain point of time or after the next reboot of the target clients. If a job got failed, the system could carry out some retries in order to get the deployment done after all. You need to specify the number of retries with the order.
Global history: All deployment attempts on the clients get logged. The system provides you with a detailed history of all deployment runs on all clients. Results can be filtered individually, e.g. with focus on a specific period, target client, status of deployment, deployment jobs and so on.
Discovery function: Install.Desk is capable to discover all the clients in your Windows environment in order for you to update the device list in Install.Desk in an automated way.. The clients can then easily be taken over from the Windows network environment or from the Active Directory.

Additional module: OS deployment

This module extends Install.Desk with new functions for the creation and management of operating system packages for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

By means of OS deployment, entire setups including answer files for the particular operating systems can be configured fast and easily.

The efficient setup manager factors in different requirements od operating systems. When the completed setups are transferred to the target client via USB stick, CD or PXE-Server, the selected operating system is installed silently without any user queries and with its predefined settings.

Once created in Install.Desk, the operating system packages are stored, so that you can always reuse the configured setup – without defining the settings again.

Combination with the FCS asset management solution Asset.Desk

It is possible to combine Install.Desk with the inventory data of Asset.Desk This bundle offers additional advantages to you: You can deploy your software more “client specific”. The inventory information given by Asset.Desk shows you in brief which clients still need to be provided with a certain software application. By clicking a button, Asset.Desk hands over the list of these clients to Install.Desk which itself creates a deployment group from them straight away.
